Call for artist participants for Open Studio Tour of Henderson County

An informational meeting about this year’s Open Studio Tour of Henderson County will be held on April 3^rd at 4:30 PM at the Kaplan Auditorium of the Hendersonville Public Library. Henderson County artists interested in participating in the September 21-22 Tour are encouraged to attend.  Registration will be open through May 31st.

Planning is under way for this year’s self-guided tour of the area art studios.  Last year’s successful tour included 44 painters, sculptors, potters, jewelers, weavers, woodworkers and glass artists who live and work in Henderson County.  Tour visitors came from many counties and several states and sales were brisk for most artists.  The free-to-the-public Open Studio Tour is about creating connections with artists where they work, to discover the process of creating and what inspires each artist.  The tour is free and everyone is welcome.  Artist studios can be found in all towns of Flat Rock, Tuxedo, Hendersonville, Horse Shoe, Mills River, and Laurel Park in Henderson County.  This year’s event will again feature the popular Preview Party and fundraiser for Backpacks for Kids event on Friday evening, September 20^th.  Tour sponsorships are available.

Organized and funded by artists on the Tour, under the auspices of the Art League of Henderson County, the Open Studio Tour is planned as an event held on the third weekend of September each year.  More details on the website www.openstudiotourhc.com
